Hidden within each of us are personal and archetypal energies that are unknown
to us at a conscious level. Suppressing these energies wastes our energy and
limits our growth. Authentic Movement(AM) provides us with the opportunity
to become aware of the inner impulses that are alive in our body and psyche.
By showing us how to sensitize ourselves to our inner impulses, AM helps us
allow these energies to unfold into intuitive, free-flowing movement. This
process of inner movement is a pathway into ourselves. It reveals to us our
hidden depths and allows us to heal and become whole.

AM embraces a broad range of movement experience. As we move, we may simply
stretch and "warm up" our bodies, or we may have a deeply emotional experience.
There are times when we may have a transpersonal experience that allows us
to feel that we are part of something larger. AM helps us become more aware
of ourselves and guides us to our unique way of moving through our patterns.

In Authentic Movement, the mover is observed by a silent witness. Being
seen by a silent witness intensifies the mover's awareness of her/himself,
and witnessing gives the observer the opportunity to discover what s/he brings
to the act of perceiving-projections, prejudices, preferences, old unfinished
business. By learning to own what is our own, we have the opportunity to work
out old issues and heal old wounds. It is through this that both movers and
silent witnesses become able to perceive and share their experiences from
a respectful, empathetic, and compassionate state of consciousness. As we
continue this process, we find that we increasingly trust our body's wisdom
and live more authentic, whole lives.
